My Longest Ride

Usually, I put fun stuff here, since life has so many wonders. This time, I’m mixing fun stuff with other stuff. About a year ago, I learned that my cancer had spread. It’s been a rough ride, but there’s still good news. I can still ride my bike, so I’m cycling across the US and raise money for cancer research. To make the best of the trip, I’ll be sleeping in a tent, so my bike will carry it and the rest of my gear.

I’m cycling along the Trans America route with a 9 other people from Adventure Cycling. The route is about 4,100 miles, not including wrong turns. I’ll cycle through several national parks, hundreds of miles of prairie, and up mountains. Surprisingly, cycling up the Appalachian mountains is harder than the Rockies, more on all that in my next blog posts.
