Hills like few other

We’re cycling in Cornwall. It starts by the sea, but soon after, hills show up.

They aren’t from mountains, valleys, or anything else exotic. Hills in Cornwall are simply crazy steep and frequent. They often reach a slope or grade of 10-15%.

They’re also unpredictable since thick foliage fills our view left and right. Sometimes, it looked like cycling through trough, black on the bottom and green on both sides, as pictures show.

Later, old brick buildings showed up with big chiminies. They old mines. The buildings held the first steam engines to pump water out of mines which boosted production.

The sights and history made the hard hills worth it.

Pictures at the end of this post are a few more from the tough parts shown in the previous post.

Here are more pictures from the tough stuff in the previous post.

  1. The remains of those old mine buildings are neat! Thanks for keeping us all posted. Looking forward to the next update.

PS. Glad to see that “Farsiick” or “Farache” appears to have made it from here to there unscathed.

Oh. And has the mosquito and tick repellent been affective? Has it been needed?
