Videos

This page shows some funny or fun videos from my cycle trips in the US, UK, and EU.

4,000+ miles in 12 minutes

This video has the best video from my ride across the US, which I like to call my first ride across the US. They show up in rapid succession with some of my favourite piano music.

Cycling Down a Mountain

I never considered myself a thrill-seeker, until I cycled down a mountain. I like it.

Cycling Up a Mountain

I love cycling down mountains, but to do that, you need to go up. That can be ok too, as this video shows.

An Accidental Race with a Jogger

I like cycling at a slow and steady pace, which can get slower at the end of trip. In this case, I was finishing a cycle tour in France, had my panniers full of brie and calavdos, and had a funny surprise with a jogger.

Biking Buskers

I sometimes stay at youth hostels on my cycle trips. One time, some other cyclists showed up who were busking while they traveled, to raise money for charity. The water outside the window, on the right, is Loch Ness. Unfortunately, Nessy didn’t show up.

The Prince Harry Ferry

In 2011, I cycled across Britain, from Lands End to John O’Groats. Early in the journey, I had to use the Prince Harry Ferry to cross a river. It was a fun way to get across.

Sights in Small Town France

I created my own cycle trip through some WWI battlegrounds. There were some very somber places to see, but a pleasant moment was Albert France, shown in this video

View from a British Hilltop

On a long cycle trip in England, I went up a long hill and took a break at the top. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the view.

Approaching the Scottish Highlands

Cycling through London

Fun surprise and less fun hill

Here’s another video showing the challenges of bike touring, but this one starts out with a surprise, like how many times I can say “biplane” in a minute.
